30 June 2010 WPP Update

In the midst of national, as well as international, affairs worsening, there has been a request to re-energize the WPP effort in the Byron Shire; and there has been an initial commitment made of $200.00 to support that request.

Good news - 30 May 2010.

A new "democratic process" experiment is being implemented in many communities around the world as existing governments are "allowing" community members to participate in deciding how to allocate a certain portion of public funds.

A Book to Change the World

Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) and Will of the People Project proudly announce the first release of the new book “Emergence from Illusion” - a memoir of Ricardo Johansson on 15 February 2010.

The people of the Byron Shire, truly, now have an opportunity to formally usher in the world-wide "Awakening" that we've all been waiting for.

I have supported Earth conscious action all my life. However the actions of Byron Shire Council in denying rights to protect land that was subdivided for habitation in 1880, and so creating a situation that imperils 150 homes directly and puts the Belongil estuary AND the whole town of Byron Bay at peril is foolishness beyond compare. Please read the attached - if you live in Byron Shire you will be directly affected in many ways.

Many of us believe we are coming to the end of very dark age. Indicators of such darkness are escalation and organisation of wars for world domination and division for self profit based on a broken economic structures and human misery.

Will of the People Project are launching an amazing project.

In support of our Affordable Housing Campaign, and to build us a demountable facility we can use to spread the word at the Byron Shire Markets, we are putting out for designs for an elegant modular demountable affordable housing structure.

The outcome of this competition will be the selection of a design and the construction of this design for us to use and display at the Byron Shire Markets.

In addition this competition may enable a cottage industry building affordable housing for our community.

Woolies "BOX" gets the go-ahead in Mullumbimby

Today, February 2, 2010, Woolies received the go ahead from the Environmental Court. A sad day for the Woolies opponents amongst the Byron Shire residents.

To return the custodianship and beauty and wealth of the Earth back to the people who inhabit this amazing planet.

Our Housing Crisis

It's time our 'government' realised that current housing standards are not working. Tens of thousands of Australians are homeless as a result. And, they have no where to go, other than tents, or caravan parks, or living in the garages of kind relatives and friends. We need to find more effective more sustainable more environmently friendly living spaces for Australians. And to do this we have to actually try new ideas out! We need to try living differently, more realistically, more economically, more sustainably.

Byron New Energy

Many people have been drawn here by Byron's magnetic beauty. Bordered by the blue Pacific ocean and lush sub-tropical green forested hills, Byron Shire is the perfect place for us to launch this wonderful experiment.

We hope you will take part and soon our world will be embued with clean renewable health giving, energy, transport and communication devices that can support our wonderful future society.

These devices will also help eliminate poverty and hardship around the world and bring prosperity and happiness to our wonderful human family.
